Terms & Conditions

This page contains the terms & conditions. Please read these terms & conditions carefully before ordering any products from us. You should understand that by ordering any of our products, you agree to be bound by these terms & conditions.

By placing an order at Svendsen Jewellery, you warrant that you are at least 18 years old (or have parents' permission to buy from us) and accept these terms & conditions which shall apply to all orders placed or to be placed at Svendsen Jewellery for the sale and supply of any products. None of these terms & conditions affect your statutory rights. No other terms or changes to the terms & conditions shall be binding unless agreed in writing signed by us.

Pricing Payment & Delivery

The prices payable for goods that you order are as set out in our website. All of our prices are in UK Pounds. You will be billed in UK Pounds and if you purchase from outside the UK, currency fluctuations and credit card charges may make a difference to the amount billed on your credit card. Please see our delivery page for information on timings and costs of delivery. We will use our reasonable endeavours to deliver the goods or services within the times indicated. However, where delivery times and dates are given, they are for general guidance only and we will not be held liable for late delivery of goods caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Cancellation and Exchanges

Customers are legally entitled to cancel an order any time before it is dispatched. Any cancellations must be written via email and sent to info@svendsenjewellery.com. If it is not possible to stop your order in time for dispatch please follow the instructions for 'Returning an item'. Exchanges work in the same way. If you need your exchange to be processed quickly, it will be faster for you to claim a refund on a product by following the instructions 'Returning an item', and meanwhile place another order for the item you require.

You cannot cancel a bespoke or personalised item once it has gone into production.

Deposits paid for bespoke, customised or personalised items are non-refundable.

Our Complete Satisfaction Promise

Svendsen Jewellery guarantees your total satisfaction with our products and services. In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase, you can return the items to us within 14 days of delivery and we will be happy to offer you either an exchange or full refund minus any postage costs, providing the goods are returned in perfect condition in the original packaging.

Bespoke and engraved items: these pieces are Special Orders, which means that the item will be made or customised especially for you; because of this, these pieces of jewellery cannot be exchanged or returned under any circumstances.

Returning an Item

When you return your items to us, please ensure you enclose your name and address and whether you require a refund or an exchange. Pack the items back in the parcel and send it back to us. We will provide a return address to you via email.

We strongly recommend that you send your order back to us by recorded delivery. We cannot accept responsibility for parcels lost in transit. A prompt refund will be issued within 30 days if the item is in its original condition and all the information referred to above is received. The credit card used for the original purchase will be credited with the original price. If there are any problems with your refund, a member of customer services will contact you. For all returns, except where the item is faulty, you will be required to arrange and pay for the return of the products to us.

Receipt of Order

Svendsen Jewellery must receive payment in full for your order before it can be accepted. Once your credit card has been authorised Svendsen Jewellery will send you an email receipt confirming your order. Please keep this receipt for your records. Svendsen Jewellery reserve the right to refuse to supply to any person for whatever reason.

Defective and Damaged Item

If you should receive an item that is defective, damaged or not what you ordered, please contact us within 10 days. We will help you resolve any issues as quickly as possible by replacing the item, delivering another item by way of an exchange, or refunding the amount paid. The faulty item will need to be returned to us by post.

Bespoke Jewellery

Consultations for bespoke pieces are free. Once you are happy with your final drawing and design specifications for your project, have confirmed via email that all details are correct, and that you are ready to go ahead, we can proceed with your order. A payment of 60% deposit is required before commencement of all bespoke projects. Your deposit paid will be deducted from the final balance due. Please note any quotes received are valid for 14 days from date of issue due to the fluctuations in metal prices. We do reserve the right to change a quote within this time frame is there is a change in metal prices, but this is a rare occurrence.

Once a drawing has been agreed on, the client has to honour this agreement. Svendsen Jewellery cannot be held accountable for any changes to personal views on reflection after work on the piece has commenced. Please note we will match the drawing as closely as possible when translated into your precious metal jewellery, but please bear in mind that any sketches are just an indication of how the finished jewellery will look- and because the jewellery is hand made some slight variations from the sketch and the final finished jewellery can occur.

Once an order for bespoke jewellery has been placed and deposit paid, we take this as acceptance of our terms and conditions on bespoke jewellery. No major changes can be made once you have confirmed the design and once you have paid, and your order cannot be cancelled or refunded. Any changes made to an order after acceptance of specifications and payment may incur a charge. No refunds will be given on any bespoke piece of jewellery at any time.

The final balance can be paid in full on completion of work. It is courteous to pay the final amount on completion of work, and any arrangement to pick up work must not interfere with the job being completed. This causes delay in cash flow and can be the detriment to a small business. A photo of completed work can be provided for approval, if there is a delay between completion and pick up.

Alterations may be made after a bespoke piece has been received will incur an additional charge. Svendsen Jewellery will be happy to help but this will not be included in your original price.

If you’d like to discuss the practicality and wearability of your bespoke jewellery idea before proceeding, we’re more than happy to help. Please note, jewellery will tarnish over time.

By agreeing to go ahead with any bespoke piece, you accept these terms and conditions

Ring sizing

We will either take your ring size in person, or if this is not possible, we will send appropriate sizing information, and advise in collaboration with you to decide the correct size according to your comfort. If the piece is for a surprise, we will provide advice and assistance as necessary.

We will resize a bespoke ring free of charge once (within the first year after purchase) if it is not right. If it needs to be altered again please be aware there will be a charge which we will state in correspondence. As each piece is unique, we need to cost piece by piece depending on the complexity of the ring.

Social Media & Marketing

From time to time, Svendsen Jewellery may post 'progress' and 'finished' photographs of bespoke jewellery on our social media feeds. If you place an order of a bespoke piece and would prefer us not to do this at the time of making, then please do let us know. If your order is a special gift and you would like us to hold off of posting images on social media until you have given the gift, please make us aware of this at the time of payment, so we can include this in your project details. Please also provide us with the date of when we are able to post photographs of the finished item(s).

All finished bespoke jewellery will be photographed and images will be posted on our social media pages and on svendsenjewellery.com unless expressed otherwise by the customer.
